Ubuntu is the most used Linux flavour on campus, and supports a significant chunk of our critical infrastructure.
This mirror is in full compliance with official guidelines for Ubuntu mirrors, and the maximum delay in updates reaching this server is 6 hours.

Supported releases
CD Images of all supported releases can be obtained from here .
Repositories of all officially supported releases are mirrored to here . When a release reaches end-of-life, the repos for that release stop functioning to force users to upgrade.

Releases past their end of life.
However, it is possible that some legacy softwares need to be run/supported. CD Images of all eol releases can be obtained from here .
All releases that have reached end-of-life will be available here . Anyone who needs packages for a release past its end-of-life should make sure they understand the security implications, and edit their apt sources as appropriate.
Please note that requests to end-of-life repositories are transparently proxied to Ubuntu old releases archive, and hence the intermediate directories are not browsable. They work with apt and friends, but humans and apes are disallowed.

Apt Configuration
Example sources.list files that were previously provided were being used widely as-is, and are hence discontinued.
A sample is provided here for reference. Replace <release> with the version you are using, and uncomment sections you consider appropriate. For most cases, something similar to the below section should work well. Please note that proposed and backports channels should not be enabled on production machines without understanding the consequences in detail.
