Dr. Ram Lal obtained M.Sc (Maths) from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, (U.P) and Masters Diploma in Information Technology from Tata InfoTech Delhi, Ph.D (E-Governance) from Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Dr. Ram Lal is a academic staff in Computer Services Centre at I.I.T Delhi since 1988. He has more than 31 years experience in System Operations (ICL 2980/3980), User consultancy, Programming languages, Python, Machine Learning, Sun-System Administration including MATLAB Programming. Since 2000, he has been teaching Matlab Programming and IT courses to IITD students.

His areas of research interests are e-governance applications using Digital Image Processing, Fuzzy Logic, Cryptography. He has published large number of papers in International Journals and in International/National Conferences. He initiated MATLAB Programming Courses to IITD Student Community. He had undertaken consultancy projects with many well known Central Govt. Offices (MHRD, EPFO). He had been a member of numerous selection committees in IITDs, NIITs, UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) and Central Government Offices as well.

In line with the requirement of the Administration, the basic and fundamental course was designed for the said categories in order to enable them not only to understand the functions of computer but also to learn the basic operations of the machine so as to remove their computer illiteracy altogether and I am proud to claim that I could succeed in my objective with the cooperation of the Administration.

Scilab

    Scilab is an opensource interactive platform for numerical computations, image processing and optimization. Scilab includes hundreds of mathematical functions. It has a high level programming language allowing access to advanced data structures, 2-D and 3-D graphical functions. It can be downloaded from here . Video tutorials are available here .
